Welder, computers stolen during burglaries

The Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police detachment is investigating a break and enter that occurred at a Cartier Boulevard residence September 19 or 20. The investigation by Constable Wal- ter Vandergoten suggests that some- one broke into a storage area and made off with a large amount of tools, includ- ing a Lincoln electric K170-6 arc welder. Constable Jean-Alexandre Robillard-Cardi- nal is investigating a burglary that occurred at a Stanley Street residence September 20 or 21. Over the weekend, someone broke into a residence and stole two Apple com- puters. September 17 or 18, an all-terrain vehicle was stolen froma Greenlane Road residence in Champlain Township. The 2002, red Hon- da 350TRX, 4-wheel ATV, with Ontario plate 23EJ8 had been parked in the backyard of the residence. The theft is being investigat- ed by Constable Raoul Doucet. Theft charges A 41-year-old Hawkesbury woman has been charged following two incidents in two days. Hawkesbury O.P.P. officers September 16 investigated a shoplifting incident at the Jean Coutu Pharmacy, 80 Main St., Hawkes- bury. A man and a woman had allegedly left the store without paying for a bottle of perfume. When confronted by a security guard, they both fled the scene. Both were later arrested by police. Mathieu Woodbury, 33, of Hawkesbury, was charged with shoplifting and three counts of breach of probation. Lisa Brown was charged with shoplifting and breach of a probation order. Bit and run Brown had been arrested the previous day when officers responded to a theft at a Higginson Street residence. When a woman was told to leave, she al- legedly grabbed some money. The victim tried to stop her but was bitten bythewoman,whothenranaway,policesay. Brown was charged with robbery with vio- lence, two counts of breach of probation and possession of illicit drugs. 26 charges In the week of September 1 to 23, Hawkesbury O.P.P. officers responded to 209 occurrences and laid 26 charges. Two assaults were reported. Officers investi- gated six break and enter incidents and 11 thefts. Four RIDE initiatives were conducted and one impaired driving charge was laid. Impaired charge September 19 officers intercepted a Ford Ranger 2011 on McGill Street, Hawkesbury.
