EMJ uses laser scanning technology to validate that field installation is occurring within the specified tolerances throughout the course of construction. This process leads to a high-quality project and reduces risks of early warranty callbacks and construction failure issues. Field Validation with Laser Scanning
ACTION DISCOVER
RESULT EMJ delivers laser scan results to the client which depict real- time, accurate representations of the work at hand. Reports include recommended solutions or measurements for corrective action so that clients can quickly and easily resolve these issues.
EMJ meets with project stakeholders to determine the areas of concern, timelines and locations where laser scanning would be beneficial. CAPTURE Laser scanning captures conditions, including: • Steel, to determine if deflection has taken place • Concrete slabs, for flatness/depressions • MEP installation locations ANALYZE & INTERACT Laser scan data is overlaid on CAD files or 3D models to determine whether or not installation is acceptable.
BENEFITS Field tolerances and locations of installed equipment are verified at appropriate times during construction, and any installation errors can be corrected before they turn into costly issues at the end of the job or beyond.
Laser scan data can provide accurate measurements minimizing cost overruns.
Value
Rework costs—including labor, materials, equipment and subcontractors— can run from 2% to 20% of a project’s total contract amount.
