QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Essential Educated to degree level or equivalent technical or professional qualifications or equivalent experience. Desirable PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate or MSP practitioner or equivalent Project Management qualification.

Essential Detailed understanding of building capabilities and capacities.

Substantial experience of managing projects within a complex business environment.

Experience of managing and influencing change.

Experience of budgetary review/management and financial reporting.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Essential Ability to identify and manage process improvements and co-ordinate effective change initiatives. Ability to manage competing end-user demands and time-critical schedules, prioritising simultaneous issues and rapidly evaluate alternate action plans. Has analytical skills and the ability to use them effectively in an information systems environment, identifying wider implications and strategic goals.

Ability to be able to resolve problems in a constructive and creative fashion.

Desirable Understanding of a Higher Education environment, and/or an ability to work effectively with key stakeholders to understand their needs within the context of the wider estates and Universities needs and objectives. Understanding of the Education sector and its corporate processes; Finance, HR, Student Systems and Research Management Systems. Line management experience, of in house and external multi-disciplinary teams of professional and technical staff.

Ability to produce clear reports, plans and presentations to all levels of staff.

Substantial experience in Masterplanning.

Knowledge of the constraints and benefits of working on a listed estate

Ability to work independently.

Microsoft Project, CAD software, Word and Excel Ability to ensure clear interpretation of client requirements and project scope so that options presented meet budget, programme and departmental requirements as appropriate on projects which could extend up to £100m and offer professional advice on the impact of decisions.
