CAPITAL PROGRAMME – SENIOR MANAGEMENT RECRUITMENT The first phase of this transformation programme is to recruit a team of five key senior professionals reporting to the Deputy Director of Estates/Director of Major Projects or the Director, Estates Development, who will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery and mobilisation of major capital projects and/or a range of complex capital and small works projects including new build, refurbishments and improvements across the UCL estate: Assistant Director, Capital Projects (<£5m) The Assistant Director Capital Projects (<£5m) will lead an in-house team of project managers in the design, contract administration and project management of a diverse range of refurbishment and fit-out estate development projects typically ranging from £100k to £5m in value. Projects will span the entire breadth of the UCL estate portfolio will mostly consist of technically complex project delivered in live environments. Candidates for this role will have a proven track record of leading the delivery of a complex portfolio of minor capital projects across a technically complex, multi-site estate portfolio. Experience of managing a team of in-house professionals in the design and contract administration of complex refurbishment, fit-out and alteration projects would lend itself extremely well to this role. Assistant Director, Capital Projects (>£5m) The Assistant Director Capital Projects will lead a team of internal and external project managers in the delivery of a diverse range of refurbishment and new-build estate development projects typically ranging from £5m to £100m in value. Projects will be delivered predominately across UCL’s core Bloomsbury campus and the student accommodation portfolio. Candidates for this role will have a proven track record of leading the delivery of a portfolio of complex medium and large scale capital projects through the management of internal and external project management professionals. Experience of capital programme management across a diverse, complex estate portfolio preferably across an urban environment is essential.
