Assistant Director, UCL East The Assistant Director for UCL East will act as the client side Project Director for the largest ever single expansion of UCL since the University was founded nearly 200 years ago. It will be a new UCL campus, complementing the Bloomsbury campus, and will be located on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, to the south of the Aquatics Centre and the ArcelorMittal Orbit. Phase 1 consists of the delivery of the first two buildings for the campus of a combined 50,000 sqm. Candidates for this role with have significant experience in a project delivery role with lead responsibility for managing large scale projects in excess of £50m in value. They will possess a track record of managing projects with comparable characteristics to those found at UCL East such as large scale, mixed-use new-build projects. Assistant Director, Institute of Neurology / Dementia Research Institute The Assistant Director, IoN (Institute of Neurology) and DRI (Dementia Research Institute) will act as the client side Project Director for new, world leading research facilities for the Institute of Neurology and the new hub for the UK Dementia Research Institute. The project will be an immensely technically complex, large scale and high-profile project delivered in the heart of Central London from project inception to completion. Candidates for this role will have a proven track record of leading and managing large scale projects in excess of £50m in value and of a technically complex nature. You will possess strong experience of leading the formative stages of projects including elements such as brief development, planning and design development. Experience of leading large scale, technically complex projects in urban environments in the science, academic or healthcare sectors would be particularly advantageous. Assistant Director, Project Mobilisation The Assistant Director, Project Mobilisation will take responsibility for leading and managing the mobilisation and transition (soft landings and assurance) of major capital projects and a range of complex capital and small works projects including new build, refurbishments and improvements across the UCL estate. The postholder will ensure that all projects are developed, delivered and brought in to operational service with the highest levels of assurance thus ensuring high standards of quality, safety, communication, stakeholder experience and customer delight. Candidates for this role will possess demonstrable experience in mobilisation and transition of major capital projects across a busy estate. Strong strategic planning skills are required including particular capability in monitoring, risk management, reporting and auditing. It is anticipated that potential candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work positively and effectively across a broad range of stakeholder groups.
