AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, has opened registration for The Influence of Sustainable Package Design on Buyer Behavior , a new webinar, Monday, January 11 at 2:00 pm ET, with Dr. Andrew Hurley,Associate Professor, Clemson University. In this webinar, attendees will learn about a multi- year case study where various packages were opti- mized to communicate sustainability. Attendees will also receive three white papers that detail a process of aligning package design, sustainabil- ity messaging, and promotion, which had a significant influence on shopper attention and decision-making, all while elevating brand equity. Being able to communicate successful storylines for package sustainability is important for sales, market- ing, design, and R&D professionals. Coordinating Packaging Design Dr.Andrew Hurley is an Associate Professor of Pack- aging Science at Clemson University. He coordinates the packaging design curriculum, manages an interna- tionally recognized consumer behavior research lab, and has delivered more than 100 presentations on package design globally. Hurley’s research lab answers complex questions on product marketing and pack- aging. His experienced group has tested thousands of packages for hundreds of brands. Hurley’s efforts have resulted in multiple awards, patents, and increased sales by 40 percent for small and large businesses.The success of his lab catalyzed the formation of Package InSight, a full-service package design and testing com- pany in Greenville, South Carolina. Reaching A Milestone In other news, AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, is accepting submissions to the Member Milestone Program and the Independent Safe Shop Awards. The Member Milestone Program is an annual oppor- tunity to recognize member companies, boxmakers and suppliers, celebrating significant anniversaries, such as 50, 60, 70, 75, 80, 90, 100 (and so on) years of continual operation. Members, in good standing, that wish to be included in this recognition, should be celebrating an anniversa- ry in 2020 or 2021 and will need to provide a 2-3-min- ute video presentation featuring the history of their company and describing their growth. The members that submit qualifying videos by the deadline will be recognized by AICC.The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 26, 2021.
