S KC Providers was crowned winner in this category for their many attributes that placed them as worthy winner by our team of judges. The business has a simple but effective philosophy, ‘look after every customer in the same manner they would expect each time they pay a visit,’ and this approach has certainly paid off. The company was formed in 2009, with the first outlet opened in September 2010. They are a plumbing, heating, bathroom and stove supply company serving plumbing contractors, builders, general public and merchants throughout Ireland. SKC’s customer base has broadened over the years and the company has won, and currently supplies several major contracts including new-build nursing homes, housing developments and hotels, alongside day-to-day plumbing supplies, bathroom upgrades, solid fuel, and electric and wood pellet stoves. Since its incorporation, the company has grown steadily, year after year. In their application it was noted how the excellent staff are key to delivering high standards throughout the business. In addition, they have supplied all of the sanitary ware to all seven of the DIY SOS Ireland shows. The judging panel congratulated SKC on this win for an outstanding customer service record.

I t was a unanimous decision from our team of judges that Greenline Plumbing Services deserved the title of Small Independent Merchant of the Year. Judges agreed that this firm, with its focus on great service and product quality, and in gaining repeat business and delivering customer satisfaction were worthy winners. Judges noted how Greenline actively expands their range of products demonstrating that its customers’ needs are always at the forefront of what they do. One customer testimonial stated: “They are a well organised team in which we fully intend to grow our working relationship in the future, and we have no hesitation in recommending them.” Other testimonials included how the number one priority for employees at Greenline is service, and that their customers’ needs are always to the forefront of what they do. Branch Manager, Ray Purfield said that the morale of the whole company had been boosted for not only winning, but also just to be nominated. “Customer service is our big thing and for us, the customer is always right!” he said.
