Cash prize up for grabs
S ONAS Bathrooms and the Technological University Dublin (TUD) have teamed up to launch a new student design award to find the 2022 Bathroom Design of the Year. Students of the BA (Honours) degree in design, led by one of Ireland’s best known interior designers, Neville Knott, will be tasked to create a luxury bathroom for a contemporary hotel. One lucky student will have the opportunity to see their winning bathroom design brought to life along with a cash prize. Neville said it was an exciting competition for students, and he expects the standard of competition to be high. “As SONAS is one of the largest suppliers of bathroom products in Ireland, there will be the opportunity to explore a variety of themes and styles in bathroom design with products from their extensive range,” Neville added. “Working on real life projects is always a great experience for
tomorrow’s designers. I know they will rise to the occasion.” Richard Sloan, MD of SONAS Bathrooms, presented the company’s products to the TUD students, highlighting the features and benefits of certain bathroom products that would fit the scope of the project. “We are looking forward to seeing the creativity of design students and see this as an opportunity to support the next generation of designers,” Richard said. “Sustainability, wellness and technology all have a role to play in the modern bathroom.
