L’Ontario vient de nommer Julie Bourgeois, de Casselman, comme nouvelle juge à la Cour de jus- tice de l’Ontario. Elle entrera dans ses nouvelles fonctions le 20 mai prochain. Mme Bourgeois, qui est originaire d’Embrun, été admise au Barreau en 1999. Elle a travaillé comme procureure de la Couronne et procureure adjointe de la Couronne ces 16 dernières années. Elle participe active- ment à la vie communautaire comme bénévole pour diverses associations, dont le Club Richelieu Casselman. Elle a siégé au conseil d’administra- tion de l’Association canadienne pour la santé mentale pour les comtés de Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry et Prescott-Russell, et des Services de Santé Royal Ottawa. Elle est membre de plusieurs organisations professionnelles, dont l’Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Ontario. La juge en chef Lise Maisonneuve a assigné la juge Bourgeois à présider à Ottawa.

A two-car collision at Maple and Route 148 in Grenville brought one woman to the Hawkesbury General Hospital on the afternoon of May 12. The woman was transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. Gino Paré of the Sureté du Québec said the accident was minor.
