Sylvain points to that line from the movie Field of Dreams — “If you build it, they will come.” “We built a system so when someone becomes a Melaleuca Marketing Executive and joins our team, they know exactly what they need to do to have success,” he says. One of the first things new builders are taught are the three essentials of achieving goals: see, believe it can be done, and go into action. Baked into those essentials are all the passion, energy, and hard work it takes to build a thriving Melaleuca business. The new builders who have come to the team have taken these essentials to heart. They share Melaleuca with passion and belief. But considering what they have to share—all of Melaleuca’s hundreds of wellness products and a time-tested vehicle for creating a reliable residual income—it’s no wonder they’ve brought so much energy and excitement with them. “Our team is called Team VIP for a reason,” Sylvain says. “Those letters have lots of meaning to us. They stand for Very Important Person, of course. But on our team, VIP stands for value, integrity, and perseverance. VIP also stands for Vraiment importante de partager, which translates as ‘truly important to share.’” Or, in other words, “worth sharing.” From the forests to the bustling city centers within their vast province, Team VIP is enthusiastically sharing all of what Melaleuca has to offer with family after family. Quebec is the province Sylvain Laplante and Monique Pothier call home, along with almost all of their team. They share the French language along with Quebec’s unique heritage and “people-oriented” culture, as Sylvain puts it. So it’s no surprise that they’re a close-knit bunch. “We’ve stuck together through thick and thin,” Sylvain says. Case in point: when one team member recently lost her home to a fire, the team rallied around her, donating clothes and furniture and even raising thousands of dollars for her in an online fundraising effort. They rally as a family to celebrate each other’s successes as well. For example, Sylvain and Monique spend hours calling team members and laughing and crying with them as they open their checks each month. “Whether you made $500 or $20,000, we want you to know everyone is cheering you on,” Sylvain says. And with seventy members of their team advancing along with them this month, there’s a lot to celebrate. The couple has spent two years creating this culture with love and care just so they and everyone around them could enjoy the results now coming into fruition.

“We have a ‘testimonial wall’ online where shoppers can share their product experiences,” Sylvain says. “They put them on the wall, and guess what? Other people get excited to try those products!”
