MAINTENANCE OF TFH BUBBLE COLUMNS

DO NOT USE any premoistened wipes, disinfecting sprays or any alcohol, ammonia, peroxide or bleach based cleaners on the Bubble Column tube. This will deteriorate the acrylic and result in spider cracks which will cause leaks in the Bubble Column. Use ONLY Bubble Column Cleaner (9BCC) on the outside of TFH Bubble Columns. TFH USA recommends that you use Gold Bond Hand Sanitizer when touching our Bubble Columns. Any of the alcohol-based hand sanitizers will transfer that alcohol to the column resulting in spider cracks and leaks.

Regular maintenance of the TFH Bubble Column includes… MONTHLY: Add a capful of BUBBLE COLUMN ADDITIVE (sold separately - 9BCCA) monthly.

EVERY FOUR TO FIVE MONTHS: Empty the entire contents of the bubble column with the DRAINAGE PUMP (sold separately - 9BCPUMP) every four or five months. Remember to add an extra two ounces of anti-algae solution (Bubble Column Additive, see above) every time you change the DISTILLED water in your Bubble Column. CLEAN INSIDE OF BUBBLE COLUMN: Empty entire contents of the bubble column with Drainage Pump. Add a couple inches of DISTILLED water and a drop or two of Dawn  dishwashing detergent to the inside. Use a dedicated rag mop to clean the inside of the column. Rinse thoroughly several times to remove all soap residue. CLEAN OUTSIDE OF BUBBLE COLUMN: Recommended EXTERIOR disinfectant: BUBBLE COLUMN CLEANER (9BCC). This is a hospital-grade disinfectant that has been tested on our bubble columns and will not crack the acrylic. This cleaner may leave a cloudly residue which can be cleaned off with water and dried with a soft cloth.

REFILL BUBBLE COLUMN: While Bubble Column is running, fill column with DISTILLED water. Adding tap water, even a small amount, will contaminate the Bubble Column and greatly increase the chance of algae growth.

Gallons of DISTILLED Water To “FILL LINE” 2M column 9 gallons (approx.) 1.75M column 8 gallons (approx.) 1.2M columns 5.5 gallons (approx.)

Keep extra DISTILLED water on hand to replenish when water evaporates (naturally occurring). If water is 2- 3” below “FILL LINE” check base for leaks and call us immediately. DO NOT TURN OFF BUBBLE COLUMN.

BALL SWITCH: To clean and disinfect use Bubble Column Cleaner on Ball Switch.
