3. "And Moses took the bones ot Joseph with him" (13:19). This verse suggests the importance of even the mortal remains of the child of God. Joseph had long been dead, but God was not through with his body. So it is with the bodies of all of God’s children. Laid in the tomb, they may seem worthless. But wait a little while! ‘‘The hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection qf life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation” (John 5:28, 29). MEMORY VERSE: “The Lord is my helper, and 1 w ill not fear” (Heb. 13:6). AIM: To teach that when God asks His children to do anything, He al ways provides all that they need to obey His commands. APPROACH: Last Sunday we learned how God saved the life of the baby Moses. When Moses had grown to be a man, God helped him to lead the Jewish -people, the Children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt toward a land of their own where they could worship God in the way which would be pleasing to Him. The land to which they were traveling was far away. God did not lead them by the shortest way to the new country, because He did not want them to pass through lands where the people were at war. He knew that His followers might be afraid if they saw people fighting, arid would want to return to Egypt. LESSON STORY: As the Children of Israel were traveling toward the land to which Moses was leading them, they sometimes forgot the wonderful things that God was doing for them on their journey. One day they com plained to Moses because they thought they did not have enough food to eat. Moses told the people that God had heard their complaining and had promised to give them bread and meat to eat. That evening so many quails flew to the place where the Jewish people were camping that the ground was covered with them. In Psalm 78:27 God tells us that they were like the sand of the sea in number. The people killed the birds and had all the meat that they wanted. In the morn ing when the dew had gone from the ground, in its place were many small round flakes, about the size of hail, or frost. The people did not know what they were. Moses said, “This is the bread which the Lord hath given you Tor the Children O n A L ong J o u r n e y E xodus 13: 17, 18; 16: 6-15
