LES AIGLES PRENNENT LEUR ENVOL POUR UNE NOUVELLE SAISON

Ils sont à deux matchs du début de la nouvelle saison de hockey junior B et les Aigles de Saint-Isidore sont déjà en plein essor. Le samedi 22 septembre, lors du spec- tacle de la Ligue de hockey junior de la capitale nationale (LCHNJ), les Aigles ont étouffé le feu de l’Inferno de West Carleton 6-1, dans le match prévu entre les deux clubs. Jacob Brunette, Kalvin Cormier, Tyler Druce, Kevin Howson, Frédérik Laflèche et Alexis Leclerc ont marqué un but chacun pour Saint-Isidore. Zachary Hince, Crispin Miguel, Zackary Bougie, Brunette, Druce et Leclerc ont aidé à marquer. Dimanche soir à domicile, les Aigles ont battu les Rockets de North Dundas 4-1 grâce aux buts uniques de Jacob Brunette, Crispin Miguel, Tyler Druce et Alexis Lerclerc. Brunette, Kevin Howson, Philippe Burden et Zackary Bougie ont assisté les marqueurs. Lucas DeVries a gardé le filet des Aigles dans les deux matchs. Les Aigles sont à Vankleek Hill ce wee- kend pour un match samedi soir contre les Cougars. Ils rentrent chez eux dimanche soir pour accueillir le Hull-Volant de Gatineau.

summer months.” Although the team is on to its new year, they have fared quite well against the other, more experienced teams in the league. “We face teams that come from Orleans, Kanata and the Seaway region,” outlined Barbeau. “They all have a good amount of experience
over Prescott-Russell,” explained Christopher Barbeau, one of the coaches of the Prescott Russell 12 and under Fall Baseball team. The creation of the team was a first for the region. “We wanted to offer local kids a chance to play baseball in the fall,” he said. “Some kids want to keep playing past the
and we’re still playing great against them.” According to the coach, Kanata, which has had teams in the league for some time, had enough players to form two teams. “Sixty-eight kids registered for their teams,” said Barbeau. “They therefore picked up the best players they could.” The Prescott Russell team, comprised of players ranging from the age of nine to twelve, has a respectable two wins and four losses, so far. “We’re doing great,” the coach said. All the games are played around the Ot- tawa region, the season ending on October 20, with a championship game. But a minor problem has allowed the local team to be able to host the said championship at the Al- fred ballpark. “We play our games in Ottawa,” Barbeau explained. “But the City of Ottawa closes their baseball fields on October 13.” The coach further explained that the creation of the team couldn’t have been possible without the support of several volunteer parents as well as local merchants.
