This interactive workshop introduces PreK-12 educators to the CAL SIOP Model, a research-based framework for integrating language development with content instruction. Participants will learn and practice the eight (8) components of the model through demonstrations, simulations, collaborative lesson planning, and video analysis. Educators will leave with practical strategies to design and deliver lessons that make grade-level content comprehensible for multilingual learners while promoting academic language development. Who Should Attend This is the right workshop for those who: Have little to no knowledge of the SIOP Model or are seeking a refresher Teach or support multilingual learners in PreK-12 settings Want practical tools to integrate language and content instruction Work as teachers, coaches, specialists, or administrators supporting multilingual learners
Time Commitment CAL SIOP for Educators can be delivered in the following flexible formats: Two-Day Workshop (10-12 hours) : Comprehensive introduction to the SIOP Model and its eight components. Three-Day Workshop (15-18 hours) : Expanded exploration with guided practice and application. Four-Day Workshop (20-24 hours): In- depth training with extended practice, reflection, and implementation planning.
