Proaudio Sound Press: How would you describe the essence of Essential Groove, and what do you hope listeners experience when they attend one of your sets or events? Essential Groove: I would say I would hope one would experience a sense of nostalgia as I like to incorporate some nostalgic tracks into my sets, also a discovery of some new sounds, and just a general sense of music euphoria. Proaudio Sound Press:Your birthday events are famous for featuring a big lineup of local DJs. Can you share the inspiration behind these birthday bashes and what makes them such a hit among your fans? Essential Groove: The inspiration for my birthday events was to try and get all my friends within the industry to come and showcase a set, also to have a great time and celebrate my special day with me. I guess they have been running for so many years they have become a yearly feature to look out for. Proaudio Sound Press: Being an outdoor enthusiast, how do your outdoor adventures influence the music you create and play? Are there specific environments that inspire certain genres or moods? Essential Groove: I feel that different kinds of music insinuate different moods. If one had to go through my vinyl collection, you would notice it's mainly deep house which is perfect for a beach setting. Proaudio Sound Press: Essential Groove is not just a name; it seems like a philosophy. How do you connect with your audience during a performance and create that essential groove that keeps them moving?

Essential Groove: I must make mention of my hair sponsor Francos International here, they make sure that besides connecting to the audience via the music I play, I also try to be easily recognizable and anyone who has seen me out with my different hair colors would attest to me being usually instantly recognizable. I would also say I am very interactive with people and before I play a set I make sure to greet as many people as I can and usually gauge the crowd I am playing for to see which direction of music I am taking that night. Proaudio Sound Press: Balancing a career as a financial advisor with a thriving DJ career is quite a unique combination. How do these two aspects of your life complement each other, and do you find any unexpected parallels between finance and music?
