A Model of Achievement The Elizabeth City (NC) Alumni Chapter is a Testament to Brotherhood, Service, and Leadership

I n Elizabeth City and across North Carolina, the principles that define Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. are demonstrated through purposeful work that supports the well-being of entire communities. The Elizabeth City (NC) Alumni Chapter has distinguished itself through initiatives that reflect dignity, consistency, and a shared commitment to public service. Over the past year, the chapter has expanded its presence in civic life, strengthened ties with local institutions, and advanced opportunities for young people. The result is a portrait of a chapter that embodies the fraternity’s mission to achieve in every field of human endeavor. STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY BONDS On March 29, 2025, eight members of the Elizabeth City (NC) Alumni Chapter gathered at the Albemarle Regional Bike Trail with a clear sense of mission. with tools, they cleared debris, restored access, and improved safety along one of the area’s most traveled rec- reational paths. The effort reflected the belief that community strength often depends on the small, steady acts of service carried out by dedicated volunteers. Mayor E. Kirk Rivers (Epsilon Eta

1994), joined his brothers in the cleanup work. His participation served as a reminder that civic leader- ship begins on the ground, shoulder to shoulder with residents who share a vision for a better community. Two weeks later, on April 14, 2025, the chapter received a Mayoral

Certificate of Recognition in a ceremony at Elizabeth City Hall. Led by Polemarch

James E. Robertson Jr. (Epsilon Alpha 1962), five-chapter members

stood with city officials to formally accept the award. Mayor Rivers commended the fraternity for modeling the type of civic engagement
