Henry J. Wyatt, JD, MD 1939-2025 Physician

H enry J. Wyatt (Delta Zeta 1959) entered the Chapter Invisible on August 6, 2025. Henry James Wyatt was born on November 22, 1939, in Covington, GA, to Lewis and Ruby Wyatt, the second of six children. He grew up in Cleveland, OH, attended school in the Cleveland Public School System, and ran track and played baseball in junior high and high school. Wyatt served as a chemist in the U.S. Army, stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (Washington, D.C.). He was a physician, first as a pathologist with the D.C. Medical Examiner’s Office. He then served as Medi- cal Director at Gallaudet University/Student Health Service (Washington, DC), Medical Director at the Wisconsin Avenue Nursing Home (Washington, DC),

Mules (Washington, DC). He was also a long-term member of Trinity Episco- pal Church, Washington, DC, and served on its Vestry, and was a member of its choir before moving to Tryon, NC, where he became a member at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and a member of its “Saturday Singers” (choir). Brother James Wyatt is survived by a devoted wife, Janice A. Booker Wyatt; daughter–Sherri Lynn Wyatt, Esq.; son–Daryl Dominic Wyatt; two grandchildren–Savanna Kai Wyatt, and Evan Dominic Wyatt; two brothers–Lewis (Gail) Wyatt, Jr., M.D. (Delta

practitioner, primarily in the Washington, DC area, for over 30 years, with med- ical licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Georgia, before recently retiring to Tryon, NC. Dr. Wyatt was a graduate of Central State University, B.S., Chemistry [1961]; Howard University School of Law, J.D. [1968]; Howard University College of Medicine, M.D. [1972]; and was a candidate for a Ph.D. in Nutrition, Howard

University, College of Applied Sciences, Depart- ment of Nutrition. He had numerous appointments, memberships, and other recognitions, including Mayoral Appointee, Police and Firefighters’ Retire- ment and Relief Board of the District of Columbia; Howard University Board of Trustees; Member: American Society of Bariat- ric Physicians, the Obesity Action Coalition, and the Medico-Chirurgical
