Principal Accountabilities
The Principal Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the strategic leadership, smooth running of planned & cyclical mechanical maintenance works and oversee reactive works whilst making sure all Statutory compliance and legal provisions are met(so far a reasonably practicable).
The post holder will ensure staff, contractors and members are focused on achieving the mission and aims of the Estates Directorate Services Strategy.
They will provide senior leadership and management to the Directorate. Participate and contribute to various cross organisation activities as required by the Head of Estates Infrastructure.
They will operate within the annual budget and take full responsibility for all the Mechanical systems expenditure and monitor key indicators of impact and financial health across the estate and ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, in line with SFG20 and Uniclass dynamic classification.
As Responsible Authorised Person, the post holder will be required to attend and take a lead in Mechanical Systems Steering Groups, as well as attend Safety panels and other relevant meetings as required within their area of specialisation, or assign these to the Deputy responsible Person as required.
