Alain Desbiens, 40, was at home at his Water Street residence when police made a surprise stop for a compliance check. They found marijuana and some illegal pills in Desbiens’ possession. He is now charged with breach of proba- tion concerning a condition restricting him from use of non-prescribed drugs. He also faces possession charges under the federal narcotics and drug trafficking regulations.

Police do spot-checks on some people who are on probation to make sure they are living up to their court-ordered release conditions. A Plantagenet man will be heading back to court later in the year after a March 30 visit from police found him in violation of his probation conditions.
