New Way Forward Builds a
For the Next
Generation of Achievers
F or more than 109 years, the men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. have worked tirelessly to uplift African American young men. These young men have been our brothers, our sons, our nephews, our cousins, our neighbors or just young men who needed a chance. While com- munities across the country are pros- pering, young men of color are facing a future that is devoid of opportunities. We constantly talk about preparing the way for young men to go to college, but what happens when the path is wrought with land mines? Or what happens to the young man who is not ready for college, but needs another path for his success – where does he turn in today’s society? We have to meet the young men of today and tomorrow where they are and help them to do more than find a way to success, but to build their own way. That is the mission that is before us. Too often, organizations look to others to help them achieve their mis- sion, but the brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi have always begun every mission by picking up the mantle and getting things done ourselves. For example, through our Guide Right/Kappa League program we have seen that 67% of our program participants graduate college within six years. It is that kind of service and leadership from chapters across the world that have made that possible. Our
programs have made tremendous and lasting impacts before. This mission will accomplish the same.
A New Way Forward
