Rod Selection - Construction & Uses

Steel Tile Breaking Rods (1/4" dia. & 5/16" HD)

1/4" dia. Tempered Steel Rods: These rods are high strength steel rod designed for tile breaking and rotary glaze removal with chains and cable whips. They are the most popular dia. steel rod that most of us have been using for many years. We took them to the next level with new premium grade tempered steel and manufactured lengths that are more user friendly. These rods also work great for pizza ovens. Available in 3', 4' 5' & 6' lengths with heavy duty Snaplok ® Fittings.

1/4" Steel Rod (TBR-025)

5/16" dia. Tempered Steel Rods: These rods are for heavy duty use and will not break. They are made of high strength, premium tempered steel for maximum durability and strength. They can also be coupled to the 1/4" rods to create a more flexible length to get through offsets then use these heavy duty rods for the straight section of chimney. Available in 3', 4' 5' & 6' lengths with heavy duty Snaplok ® Fittings.

5/16" Steel Rod (TBR-HD)

7/8" dia. Hollow Aluminum Rods

7/8" dia. Hollow Aluminum Rods: These rods work great for power sweeping or tile breaking from the top. They are extremely lightweight and super durable. They are designed to be used in conjunction with our 13/16" nylon rods or steel rods for tile breaking and chain whipping. If working from the top down in a flue or duct that has an offset, use the solid nylon or steel rods first then add these lightweight aluminum rods. This will allow you to get through the offset.
