What’s in the box? Dancing story

BHANGRA BEATS Last Friday, the ‘BHANGRA MAN’ Sohan Kailey visited Abbey Infants School, Bhangra music boomed as our Nursery and Reception classes clapped, twisted, skipped and jumped along to the rhythm. There was lots of shouting and laughing as the children learnt the moves. Their Bhangra adventure began by discovering the magical box. What could be in the box? Jewels? Stars? Unicorns? Rainbows? The children then had to search for the key. Once found, they realised that they were going on a journey… One moment they were on a farm, the next – Dinosaur land! Then they travelled to the beach. After that, they were aligned in the moves with the Bhangra Pirates! Lots of fun was had dancing on the ship’s deck and climbing the rigging. Then the children had the opportunity to dress up in traditional Bhangra costumes, waving, throwing and catching colourful scarves. Each child had the opportunity to develop their own style of bhangra, and all had a wonderful time! Thanks to Miss. Bevan for the story.
