Led by their official cadet band, the 832 Twillick Clarence-Rockland Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadets parade past their commanding officers and special guests at the reviewing stand, during their annual ceremonial review May 30.

the 832 Twillick Squadron air cadets unit paraded before an appreciative audience of military and civilian spectators during their 41 st Annual Ceremonial Review. This year’s special guest review officer was Lt.-Col. RichardHone, a veteran of Canada’s Afghanistan mission with the Allied Joint
Task Force. He praised the cadets of 832 Twillick Squadron for their professiona- lism and their displays of close-order drill and regimental band performance, along with their comic performance of the «Gru’s MinionsWay» for dealing with a simple first- aid emergency compared to the right way of helping someone in distress. «Hard work is also a reward in itself,» observed Lt.-Col. Hone, quoting a tradi- tional Latin proverb as he noted that the combined efforts of the cadets themselves, with the support of their families and the instruction of their training officers, benefit
both the cadet corps and the community at large. «Per ardua ad astra.» Capt. Tina Burns has been commanding officer for 832 Twillick Squadron for the past four years, more than half of the unit’s pre- sence as part of Clarence-Rockland’s youth group community. She confirmed during her review speech that she has contracted to continue as CO for another two-year term and she is looking forward to continue to work with and lead her cadet charges. «The cadet program inClarence-Rockland continues to thrive,» she said. «We succeed because we adapt to change.»
