Galápagos Islands ECUADOR

Above and beneath the waves, the Galápagos is populated by an extraordinary amount of endemic creatures, from lumbering giant tortoises to swimming marine iguanas, the northernmost penguin on Earth and a plethora of sharks. Their ancestors reached these remote volcanic islands by chance, gradually evolving into new species, and it was here aboard the HMS Beagle that Darwin formed his famous theory. Draw the year to a close where animals are fearless of human presence, swimming alongside sea lions, walking between vast bird colonies and following sea turtles across coral reefs relatively unnoticed. Thanks to our contacts in the Galápagos, you can get involved in exclusive and hands-on conservation experiences and gain insight into important work that goes into protecting and restoring this precious ecosystem. And just an overnight sail from the main archipelago, the remote islets of Wolf and Darwin are fantastic dive spots. Here you can expect schools of hammerheads, whale sharks, humpbacks, dolphins, and mesmerising manta ray displays. Coordinate with our researchers and you can also spend your days tagging and counting sharks for conservation purposes.
