“Why Are You Waiting For Your Pain To Worsen Before Seeking Treatment? ” Life Is So Much Easier Without Sciatica Or Back Pain
Do you experience pain in the lowback, buttocks, thigh or leg? If so, you may be experiencing sciatica. Sciatica is a common, painful condition where the sciatic nerve becomes irritated in the lower portion of the spine. Sciatica can be caused by herniated lumbar discs, degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, lumbar spinal stenosis, sacroiliac joint dysfunction or piriformis syndrome. All of these different ailments can lead to irritation of the sciatic nerve, causing numbness, tingling and pain into the hip, buttock and along the path of the nerve descending into the thigh, lower leg and foot. If you are suffering from sciatic nerve pain it is important to find the root cause of your symptoms. Different types of testing, such as MRI’s or CT Scans attempt to find the origin of the pain but do not always lead to the correct diagnosis. In addition, severe tightness or macrotrauma to the piriformis muscle is commonly missed on these scans. Why does Sciatica Occur? Sciatica can be caused by degenerative changes to the spine, trauma to the low back or buttocks, prolonged improper posture and bodymechanics or pelvic misalignment.
