Job Summary The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing specific capital projects from inception to completion to cost and time: • The day to day management of the project (including contractors and whole project budgets) and delivery of the project deliverables within agreed constraints. • Planning, monitoring and controlling all aspects of a project to ensure that the most cost effective, timely and appropriate solutions are developed to fulfil the Trust’s strategic goals. • Producing project documentation including financial and progress reporting, specific project documentation, highlight and checkpoint progress reports, quality assurance reports, and risk/issue management logs related to their schemes. • Managing the relationship with external suppliers to define and agree business needs, objectives and system requirements and any interfaces with the operational hospital staff, ensuring the scheme delivers the agreed output specification and commissioners/users’ requirements. • Line management of the Trust’s internal capital project management team (interim and substantive) Trust Vision & Values The postholder is expected to have a clear understanding of how this post contributes to the achievement of the trust strategy of: Delivering Outstanding Care, Every Time. Job Title: Senior Project Manager Band: 8b Hours of Work (p/w): 37.5 Service Centre/Directorate: Estates and Facilities/Corporate Base: St George’s Hospital but the post holder may be required to work at any of the Trust’s sites. Accountable to: Director of Estates and Facilities Reports to: Head of Capital Projects Responsible for: Delivery of Trust’s capital projects and line management of internal capital project managers (substantive and interim). Key working relationships: Head of Capital Projects, Assistant Director of Capital Projects, Director of Estates & Facilities, Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities, Assistant Director of Estates, Assistant Director of Facilities, Capital Projects Team, Finance department, Procurement department, Audit Department, Clinical teams, Design teams and a full range of external consultants, General Managers, Facilities team, Estates team, IT & telecoms Department, and Local Authorities Role of the Department: The Capital Projects Department provides a service to the Trust that ranges from- Estates strategic planning, refurbishments, new builds, estates projects and minor capital works as well as ongoing planning of future capital developments in line with the Trust clinical and estates strategy.
