TIRAGE-VOYAGES DU CLUB OPTIMISTE La gagnante du tirage-voyages du Club Optimiste de Hawkesbury pour le mois de février 2018 est Denise Robitaille de Hawkesbury. En septembre de chaque année le Club Optimiste de Hawkesbury met des billets en vente au coût de 100 $ chacun. Chaque billet donne droit à 12 tirages en crédit-voyage d’une valeur de 2000 $ chacun. Lettre à l’éditeur Dans le dossier de la demande de désignation patrimoniale de l’église Saint-Bernard à Fournier, vous êtes invités à choisir entre les deux énoncés : « L›église est belle, ses vitraux sont beaux, cependant la décoration est sans grande valeur artistique... ne comporte aucun élément et ne répond à aucun des critères qui permettraient d›établir qu›elle a une valeur ou un caractère d›intérêt provincial sur le plan du patrimoine culturel. » (Mgr Terrence Prendergast, s.j., 12 avril 2017); ou « En fait, l›église Saint-Bernard se distingue par plusieurs attributs patrimoniaux, particulièrement par ses peintures et ses fresques réalisées par deux peintres-déco- rateurs d›églises de très grande réputation... Bref, l›église Saint-Bernard demeure un des plus beaux exemples d›églises rurales de l›Ontario français. Sa valeur patrimoniale s›avère inestimable et sa beauté incontestable. Nous appuyons d›ailleurs notre affirmation par un extrait de l›Inventaire du patrimoine de l›Ontario français, Habiter le pays, publié en 2001, qui affirme: «... l›église de Fournier est sans doute l›une des plus belles des Comtés unis de Prescott et Russell».
