Year 8 Buddhapadipa Temple Trip
This week Year 8 students have visited the Buddhapadipa Temple in Wimbledon as part of their Religious Education lessons on worship. Students were able to view the beautiful shrine and mural paintings in the main temple, and then walk around the tranquil gardens that are a vital part of Buddhist worship. Year 8 then listened to a Buddhist monk from Thailand talk about how they worship and why their faith is important to them. They were also offered the opportunity to take part in a meditation. Students will now use the information collected to complete a presentation on Buddhist worship and also further explore why it is important to understand the different faiths around us in our local communities.
