House Plays Co-directed by Josh Johnston and Louis Gunn, the House Play this year was a performance of Rapunzel , with a twist. There were a number of boys involved and some strong acting on display. Highlights included the birthing of Rapunzel, which was both entertaining and cleverly done. Will Simcock’s performance as the prince earned him an actor’s award, and Josh and Louis gained director’s awards. Golf Our team of Hamish Patterson, Thomas Stephens and Louis Gunn represented us well in the House golf competition, which was played at Hagley golf course. They each contributed well through their individual performances and as a team were placed 3rd overall – a fantastic result. Chess The House chess team put on some great showings and performances, winning their way into the semi-finals where they played Corfe House. After a tight-fought contest, Corfe House were declared victors and moved on to the final. Hockey The junior House hockey team won its way through to the final where they played a good Harper House side. Harper went up 1–nil in the final and although the boys fought hard they were unable to equalise and finished 2nd, which is a great result. Cricket The junior House cricket team began their march to the final with hard fought victories over Flower’s House and Somes House, before coming up against Julius House in the final. The boys played well together and came away with the win.
