sandwich presses in their common rooms. In this challenge, each mentor group had to create a two course meal, one savoury and the other sweet. Each group then selected a boy from each year group to prepare and cook their choice of dishes. All menus had to be presented by the Year 13 students to Arthur Wood for approval – these included savoury burgers, a quesadilla, French toast and pancakes. Head Chef and Dining Hall manager Rex Quigley, Darrell Thatcher and Rob Donaldson were the guest judges. Each of the groups had fifteen minutes to prepare and cook their chosen savoury dish, which was then presented to the judges. They then had ten minutes to prepare and cook their sweet course, which again was presented to the judges. The Year 13 students presented with poise, confidence and calibre worthy of MasterChef status! Each course was judged on innovation, cooking skills and flavour. The judges were impressed with the dishes that were presented to them. Inter-mentor group challenge results 2020: 1st – Seymour (40) 2nd equal – Randolph, Cressy (36) 4th – CJ (30)
