ATHLETICS DAY There was good weather for these championships. I would like to thank all the staff and boys who helped make the event a success. It is a huge logistical exercise, with a lot of work behind the scenes before and during the event. Many staff generously gave their time to help with the heats and processing the results, and I really appreciate their assistance. On behalf of the boys, thank you. The event could not be the success it is without your hard work and contribution.

Athletics Canterbury Club Championships 22–23 February 2020

ATHLETICS CAPTAINS This year the captains were Matt Durant, Robbie McKeown and John Wells. They organised the team of athletes who helped set up the track for the College championships, and they were there helping run the heats during the lead up to the event, including judging some events. When we were the on duty club in our interclub competition on a Saturday, they helped organise the boys doing that massive job. They were to have the added responsibility of helping me manage the team at the Canterbury and South Island Secondary School Championships, but these events were cancelled due to Covid-19. Matt, Robbie and John were also working on a project for team training tops but, again thanks to Covid, this did not come to fruition either. It was a frustrating year for them as the leaders of our sport, but what they did they did well. These boys have been excellent members of our College team and I want to thank them for their contribution to athletics over the years.
