Small Cups, Big Impact: Lemonade Day 2026 Kicks Off LemonAID Day 2026 is officially underway in support of the Elgin Children’s Foundation, and once again the message is simple but powerful: something as small as a cup of lemonade can help change a child’s summer, and in many cases, their confidence and outlook for years to come. At the kickoff event, Myles Proulx, Manager of Resources and Community Partnerships with Family and Children’s Services of St. Thomas & Elgin, emphasized that LemonAID Day is about far more than a seasonal fundraiser. It’s about community connection and opportunity for local children and youth. “This is our third year hosting LemonAID Day, and each year it continues to grow in both reach and impact,” says Myles. “Every dollar raised through LemonAID Day goes directly toward helping children attend summer camp, children whose families may not otherwise be able to afford that experience. There are no administrative fees; it’s truly about getting kids to camp.” The Foundation, which works closely with Family and Children’s Services of St. Thomas & Elgin, helps bridge funding gaps to ensure children and families receive supports that might otherwise be out of reach. In this case, that support takes the form of summer camp experiences that offer much more than recreation. “We often hear how powerful camp can be,” Myles adds – “A place where children build confidence, form friendships, and
simply get to be kids. For many, it’s an experience that stays with them for a lifetime.”
