THE K I N G ’ S B U S I N E S S pressed in the following lines: “Just as I am, young, strong and free, To be the best that I can be, For Truth, for Righteousness, for Thee, Lord of my life, I come.” “What shall I render unto Jehovah for all His benefits toward me? I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the Name of Jehovah.” (Ps. 116:12, 13.)—F. W. Huling. H? TAFT THE MISSIONARY Ex.-President Taft, speaking at the Unitarian May meetings in Boston, af-> firmed that the Unitarian spirit did not concern itself with getting Presbyter ians away from their church or Congre- gationalists from theirs. “Our spirit consists in pushing pro paganda among those not in any church and making them feel the teaching of Jesus Christ as we feel it.” The Record of Christian Work says: “But is the Unitarian body missionary either at home or . abroad? Are not practically all its accessions from other Christian bodies? It has, for example, a little mission among the Khassias of Assam; but these Unitarians were brought up in the Welsh Calvinistic Mission. Unitarianism and liberal the ology, generally, seem powerless to make any original impression on heathenism, Mohammedanism, Romanism, or the un churched. In this connection it is in teresting to note that the Unitarian Theological School at Meadville, Pa., is offering a $500 scholarship to any Hindu preparing to work as a mission ary of the Brahmo Somaj in India. | g E G I N now to think about Christ- [ | mas and plan to send T h e King’s | I Business to ioo o f your friends as " l | your gift. ^illlllUlllilllilll|||||||||||||UI(lil)lltil(li|iyillll|||||||ji|il|il|||i|(|j]||H||||'|||||||||||||j||ii|||^p . |lllllllllllllllllllllllll||lll|li||||||||^

The Eighth Reason

8.

Because every time you put off

accepting the Lord Jesus, your heart gets harder. “Today, if ye shall hear His voice, harden not your hearts.” (Heb. 3:7, 8). If you do not decide for Christ now, it will be much harder for you to so decide the next time this matter is brought to your attention (if God should give you a “next time” ). Continual indecision results in the loss of the power to decide. It is fearful to contemplate the capacity of the human soul to so constantly steel itself against the loving call of the Spirit of God, that it finally' becomes insensible to His call either of invitation or warning. My friend, is your heart nearing such a state? Has the devil thrown around you the mantle of his false peace, and caused you to say to yourself, “O, I guess I am not so bad after all, and God is good,” and left you to slumber on in the sleep of spiritual death? Awake! The Word of God is sent to arouse you to your peril, and show you how you may be saved. “Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.” (Eph. 5:14 ). Remember, “He that be ing often reproved, hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.” (Prov. 29:1.) The Ninth Reason 9. Because, in the light 'of God’s love, and Christ’s giving Himself to be a Sacrifice for our sins, for anyone to plan to spend the best years of their life in the service of self and Satan, and then hand over to God the tattered, sin-scarred, “tail-end” of a broken, wasted life, is the meanest and most contemptible attitude that a human be ing can possibly assume toward his Creator and Redeemer. Do you say, “Remember the dying thief?” Yes, but there is a sharp distinction. He was a “dying thief;” while you, if you take this attitude, are a living thief. The attitude we should take, is ex-
