(14a) The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father's commandment: (19) Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever. tile nations. A nation is but an as sembly of individuals, and can never be any more morally than the individuals of which it is composed, and individuals either grow better or worse. They never stand still, and so it is with nations. It is an inherent law of God. Nothing is simpler and nothing can be more sor rowful than this unchanging law of God. No nation can rise higher than the in dividual life of its citizens. This is the most difficult lesson for our statesmen
