Basic instructions for operating the SF1000E/FC1000EL1020/X1020 FORCED AIR FURNACE Testing to B415.1-10 Category III
Pretest Load and operating procedures. • Place approximately 26 lbs. of split red oak cordwood directly on floor of firebox, placement should be north/south, keeping even spread over rear 2/3 rd of firebox. • Then place approximately 7 lbs. of kindling on top of split cordwood. • Then 1 lbs. small kindling on top. • Light Top of small kindling to start pretest load. • Leave Fuel and Ash doors open ½” for approximately 10 minutes at pretest start then close. • Draft inducer switch “on”. • Stir pretest load at approximately 19 lbs. remaining.
• Stir pretest load again at approximately 13 lbs. remaining. • Tare scale with approximately 7 lbs. pretest load remaining.
Test Load and operating procedures. • Test Load: approximately 32 lbs. Red Oak Cordwood. • Place test load North/South. • Place test load to the rear of firebox. • Draft inducer engaged. • Position Fuel and Ash doors open ½” for approximately 4 minutes or 900*f flue temp whichever is reached first, then close both doors. • At the twenty-minute mark from start of test, disengage draft inducer (off). • Leave draft inducer disengaged (off) until it reaches the targeted btu/hr output of 75-76% of max. output, then engage draft inducer (on) with the switch. • Disengage the draft inducer (off) with the switch when the targeted btu/hr output rises above 75-76%. • Continue the above process until test is complete, as referenced in the ATM issued to HY-C on July 26 th 2018 “Category III-Operate with the switch for inducer “on” and “off” to meet specific output range.”
