HOW MANY NEW CLIENTS SHOULD YOUR WEBSITE ATTRACT?

Let’s talk about your firm’s website. Ever wondered how it stacks up against other websites of firms in different metro or practice areas in terms of attracting new cases and clients? If so, here’s a stat you may want to tuck away. Based on our experience taking on and then improving more than 630 attorney websites over the last seven years, I can confidently tell you the following: The average website for a small firm or solo attorney can, and probably should, generate five new clients per month. Let’s unpack that, because there are a few important points. When I say “can,” what I mean is that with the right improvements, most attorneys and smaller firms should achieve those results. The reason I say “average” is because while some websites may (for whatever reason) attract fewer than five clients, a lot of attorneys will find (just as many of our clients did) that they attract as many as 10–15 new clients. If your website isn’t getting anything close to these results, it could be an indicator that something needs to be fixed. It could be a big thing. But it’s more likely that there are only a few tweaks you need to make to both attract more traffic from Google and better convert those site visitors into calls.
