Anderson & Vreeland, Xeikon Enter Into Sales Agreement Anderson & Vreeland, Inc. and Xeikon America, Inc. have entered into a definitive agreement under which Anderson & Vreeland will sell the Xeikon line of dry toner and inkjet-based digital label and packaging presses in the United States and Canada. The move, which was announced at the TLMI annual meeting, is reported to exponentially increase Xeikon’s sales strength in North America. A&V will begin offering Xeikon digital press solutions in early 2020 while the current Xeikon sales managers maintain their territory and account base. For each prospective customer, A&V will work in partnership with Xeikon’s regional sales managers to assemble the optimal configuration, and to assist in contract nego- tiation, ordering and installation. Xeikon will provide maintenance services and consumables for the digital presses after the sale is complete. Packaging Firms Partner To Address Skills Shortage Two packaging manufacturers have joined forces in a bid to address the skills shortage within the industry. Stockport, UK-based Arden Dies and Glossop Cartons have teamed up to try and attract more young people into the sector. The two family-owned firms, who operate in the carton manufacturing supply chain, will tour schools, colleges and job clubs across the region to promote the benefits of manufacturing and engineering careers within the sustainable packaging sector. The partnership comes after the British Chamber of Commerce revealed the manufacturing industry is fac- ing its greatest skills shortage in 30 years. “There’s a real lack of awareness among young peo- ple coming through the education system today about the opportunities available within the packaging and printing sectors,” said Martin Poynter, Managing Direc- tor at Arden Dies.
