Hockey This season the College hockey club had sufficient numbers to form an additional team compared to previous years. The 1st XI had a mixed year, and although they competed very well against the top teams in the premier competition, they were not able to maintain that level of play in other matches and missed a spot in this year’s semi-final. The 2nd XI played in Division 1 in a grade that also had four 1st XI sides, the Colts team were competitive in Division 2, but without achieving the key results needed, and three sides played in Division 3, with the Youth Grey performing best and finishing 5th after the regular season. College hockey players were involved in Canterbury representative teams at U15 and U18 level, with Toby Beale captaining the U18 Association team to a national gold, along with Tim Cross, Kyle Houston, Ollie King and Liam Adams. In Winter Tournament Week, the Colts team travelled to Hamilton for the Tanner Cup competition, while the 1st XI stayed in Christchurch for the Rankin Cup. The Tanner Cup is a twelve team invitational tournament, with a number of the top hockey schools in New Zealand involved. College began the week with a loss to Palmertson North Boys’ High School and a win over Lindisfarne College to make the play-offs from pool play. In the first play-off match, College came up against a strong Westlake Boys’ High School, and further losses to St Andrew’s College and King’s College saw the Colts team finish 8th overall. The Rankin Cup tournament was held in Christchurch for the first time in a number of years. College topped their pool with wins over Hutt International Boys’ School and Taupo College and a draw against Tauranga Boys’ College.

In the round of 16, the 1st XI played one of their best matches of the season, eventually losing 2–1 to tournament finalists Timaru Boys’ High School. The team finished the week with a win over Paraparaumu College, an overtime 2–1 loss to Whangarei Boys’ High School, and a 3–2 victory over Auckland Grammar to finish 11th in the country. Karting Jacob Douglas and Oscar Noble- Adams had superb performances at the Kartsport New Zealand national schools’ championships, with the best result College karters have ever recorded. Competing against the best young karters in New Zealand, the boys got 2nd few years ago, achieving 3rd and 4th placings for College at this event. He has now represented College in five consecutive national championships, and is currently preparing for a season of Formula Ford single seater racing. Jacob overall. Raquet sports Badminton

The College A side performed well against a Linwood College team in the A grade semi-final, with the B3 team playing Catholic Cathedral College in their grade. College A won their semi-final, before going down 7–2 to Burnside High School, with Ralph Chiang winning both his singles and doubles matches, along with Luke Murch. The B3 side lost a very close final against Middleton Grange on countback, after the game scores were tied at 3–all. William Pryor and Koen Jager won their singles and then combined to win their doubles match. Squash College had four teams in competition at the new Christchurch Squash Club this season.
