2023 marks the first year we asked the public to select a Pioneer and Rising Star in each of the 14 categories: Art + Design, Finance, Fitness + Wellness, Food + Beverage, Education, Nonprofit, Law + Legal, Military + Public Service, STEM, Sports + Entertainment, Healthcare, Real Estate, Trade + Craft, and Tourism + Hospitality. In addition to our people’s choice honorees, San Diego Magazine ’s internal panel of judges will select two overall winners–Pioneer of the Year and Rising Star of the Year.
