lieving on Jesus, the Son of God who died for our sins.

Christ for Russia Many thousands of Russian souls are still perish ing without having heard of Christ . . . -Will you let them pass into a hopeless grave? Christ gave His life for them just as for you . . . What are you doing that they should know it? How often do you pray for the Russians? Have you sent at least one dollar for their salvation? Please pray earnestly and then—do something for sending the Gospel to the multitudes of Russians in Russia and her border states, as well as relief to the suffering Christians in Soviet Russia. Do it right away, before many more pass away without any knowledge of Christ. Your best way to reach the Russians is through the first and oldest Mission Work for Russians: THE RUSSIAN MISSIONARY SOCIETY, INC. Miss M. FETLER, Rev. J. F HOLLIDAY. Object Lesson S inner and S aviour

Objects: A large napkin, an egg, a piece of red cloth or cellophane, and a hat. (In the center of the napkin sew a black cloth heart about two inches wide. Make a hole in each end of the egg and blow it. Paint the egg black. Tie a silk thread to the egg and fasten the other end of the thread to the mid-point on the hem that extends below the heart. The thread should be long enough to allow the egg to reach the middle of the napkin. Choose a thread as nearly as possible the color of your wearing apparel. Fold the napkin with the thread, egg, and black heart on the inside. The two corners on the side to which the thread is fastened should be held between the thumb and first finger of the left hand. The two other corners are to be held in the right hand.) Lesson : This napkin looks all right on the outside, and it reminds me of some people. You cartnot always tell the condi tion of a person’s heart by the outward appearance. W e will see what comes out of this napkin. (Elevate the two corners held by right hand, causing egg to roll out the end held in left hand.) A black egg, representing sin, falls into the hat. Let’s look at the inside of this napkin and see the condition of the heart. It is black and sinful. (The thread and egg are in the hat, and the napkin is held by the top corners with the lower edge just above the hat.) . A sinful heart suddenly manifests itself in sinful acts. (Cover the hat with the napkin, the heart down, and the top corners Mark 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. 2 And very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. 3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? 4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away; for it was very great. 5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a. long white garment; and they were affrighted. 6 And he saith unto them. Be not affrighted: ye seek^Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. 7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. 8 And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; fo r J they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid. 14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 19 So then, after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and con firming the word with signs following. Amen.

—the unthreaded hem— of the napkin to ward the audience. Iri picking the napkin up again, take the two corners nearest you and place them in the right hand. Take hold of the middle of the hem, where the thread is fastened, with the left hand and remove the napkin from the hat. The egg comes out of the hat and is concealed behind the napkin. When the napkin is off the hat, shift the left hand to the corners held by the right, and the right hand to the two loose corners. Pour another egg from the napkin, and repeat the process four or five times. Toss the napkin to one side with the egg in it.) How many eggs of sin have come out of the napkin? “ Five.” David said: “ Blessed is he whose trans gression is forgiven, whose sin is covered” (Psa. 32:1). W e will cover the hat with this red cloth, which reminds us of the blood of Christ. (Remove the cloth and show the hat empty.) Yes, the black eggs that represented sin are no longer there. It was necessary for Jesus to die on the cross in order that He might shed His precious blood and be able to take away our sin. Wouldn’t you like to bow your heads just now and/ ask Him to cover your sins with His blood and save you? 14-16, 19, 20 Golden Text: “ And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them” (Mk. 16:20). Devotional Reading: Psalm 16:1, 2, 7-11. Outline and Exposition I. T he A ssurance for D isciples (1-8) W HEN Christ died, fear and con sternation seized the disciples. Their Leader had been crucified, and probably there crowded into their minds the thought that they might be the next to suffer a similar death. Fearful and trembling, the disciples hid themselves behind locked doors for fear of the Jews.
