We were thrilled to see such a strong level of entries in this category and there are clearly bright futures ahead for all the apprentices who put themselves forward. However, there could only be one winner and our judging panel awarded Shane Farrell of King & Moffatt Building Services with the 2020 Apprentice of the Year award. In addition to receiving exemplary academic results, Shane has also shown himself to be a credit to his employer with the high standards of his work on site. Derek Madden, Contracts Manager at King & Moffatt Building Services said: “From an early start Shane was very focused and driven. King & Moffatt Building Service was awarded the Large Commercial Project of the Year award for their work on the landmark Center Parcs project in Co. Longford. Established by Pat King and John Moffatt in 1978, King & Moffatt Building Services provide mechanical and electrical engineering services to the construction industry, from design through to installation and maintenance. The Center Parcs development represented a E 233m investment, the single largest in the history of the Irish tourism industry, with King & Moffatt responsible for the electrical services installations on the project to the Village Centres, Aqua Sauna & Subtropical Swimming, Apartments, Externals and HKTS Building.
