MÉLISSA OUIMET QUITTE LA VOIX KIDS MEET EASTER RABBIT

The Easter Bunny hopped his way to Russell on April 13. The sight of the world-famous animal was witnessed by several children and their parents, during the Russell Lions Club’s annual pancake breakfast. “We had over 150 people so far,” explained incoming President of the club, George Rogers. “It’s more than last year, when we had 100 participants.” The man was at the helm of the welcoming table and greeting several families. “The event is steadily growing,” he remarked. The funds raised by the breakfast are used to support mostly local not-for-profit organizations as well as the deaf and blind. Many children were even offered chocolates by the Easter Bunny. Amongst them was a young Carrie Warren. “It’s our first time being here, the food was great,” said Kim Warren, the little girl’s mother. “Carrie is definitely star struck from meeting the Easter Bunny.” As of press time, the total amount of funds amassed was unavailable.
