The Head of Health and Safety will work with colleagues at the highest levels within QMUL and also liaise with internal and external specialists, trade unions and other employee representatives and the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) to develop estates policies and procedures that meet the requirements of the law and best practice. A key focus will be to work closely with and support senior stakeholders, ensuring they are able to demonstrate visible understanding, compliance and management of health and safety within their areas of responsibility. We are seeking an individual with significant experience in a health and safety role across a large, complex organisation with a broad range of core activities. With a relevant industry background and professional qualification, you will possess a proven track record of delivering health and safety management initiatives that drive organisational change and performance improvement. To be a success in the role the appointed candidate will need the excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills required to operate influentially across a large organisation with a diverse range of stakeholder groups.
