on Giroux Street, which with also feature a“tune- up station”for any needed minor adjustments or repairs to ensure that cyclists need not worry about flat tires or chains slipping off the gears during their ride. There will be a volunteer vehicle patrol follow- ing each route during the day to help riders out in case of unexpected breakdowns or if they en- counter other problems. There are two routes. One is a 25-kilometre back-and-forth river route through Rockland and Clarence Point and back, all along paved roadways. The other, longer 50-kilometre route takes riders all throughout the Clarence-Rock- land area, over both pavement and gravel roads, and offers various countryside views as they cycle along. Rockland | Benoît Lalonde has one main wish for everyone taking part this weekend in his Ben’s Tour for bicycling in and around Clar- ence-Rockland. “The goal is to go riding and have fun,”Lalonde said.“Anyone can come and ride.” Lalonde is co-sponsoring the tour with the United Counties of Prescott-Russell (UCPR), through its Prescott-Russell Recreational Trail committee. The UCPR is providing a light lun- cheon for all ride participants who registered by the June 19 deadline but Lalonde said that drop- in riders are welcome to show up at the tour’s departure point at the Knights of Columbus Hall
