A"fl ex" plan is 10, 12, 15 or 20 meals per week in the cafete ria, plus "flex points" to pur- chase additional meals ei ther in the cafeteri a or in the Eagles Nest - our on-campus coffee shop. There is a 5-meal plan and a 5-fl ex-meal plan whi ch is provided on ly for graduate sLUdenL5 and commuter students who reside in the Biola apartments. These sllldems mayalso purchase one of the other meal plans. DUPLICATING CENTER The Biola Duplicating Center, loca ted on the McNally Campus, is ava il able LO students, staff, faculty and the public. The duplicating center has high-speed duplicating equip- ment and can do a variety of jobs, including thermal bind- ing, tabs, covers, etc. Our prices are generally lower than off- campus duplicating stores. There is also an after-hours drop box located outside of the duplicating center. BOOKSTORE The Biola Bookstore is open Mondaythrough Saturday with evening hours Monday through Thursday for the convenience of the sLUdents, facul ty, staff and the public. All required text- books as well as general books and suppli es are available. The bookstore has a large selec ti on of Christian books and offers Bibles in a variety of styles and bindings at substantial discounts. Biola insign ia clothing and a large selection of greeting cards, school supplies, gift items, music and personakare items are also available. The bookstore welcomes special orders. EAGLE EXPRESS The Eagle Express is a conven ience store , located adja- cen t lo the Biola Bookstore, with extended hours LO se1w the immediate needs of the campus. Agenerous selection of soft drinks, juices, yogurts, ice cream, snacks and candies is avail- able. In add ition, a limited assortment of school and house- hold supplies are stocked. Aqui ck-turnaround photo devel- opmelll service is also provided. The Eagle Express is open Monday through Saturday. COMPUTER CENTER Located within the bookstore, the Computer Sales Center is designed lo meet the computer requirements of the cam- pus for hardware, software and related accessories which are ava ilable lo Biola faculty, staff and registered Biola sLUdents at discounts. Featuring Apple's Macintosh, the Computer Cen- ter provides the computing tools that students will find useful in their course of sLUdy al Biola. Several courses, including freshman English , require that students have access LO the Macintosh for completion of course requirements. The intent of the Computer Cemer is Lo supply the Biola campus community with computers, related software and accessories. These are sold exclusively LO enrolled students, faculty and staff and are strictly for the purpose of enhancing the educational process.

All areas of the Biola Bookstore wi ll have special hours during summer and vacation times; reduced hours during lnterterm. Please checkwith the bookstore. STUDENT HEALTH CENTER Biola University offers health sen1ce lo all registered students al the studenL health cemer located directly across from the library. Visits to consult with the doctor or nurse are free, how- ever there isa charge for medications and u·eaunents. Payment is ,rquired al the lime of each visit. In addition , sen1ces have been expanded lo include spouses of enroll ed students for a$15.00 fee for physician sen1ces, plus additional paymelll for medications and u·eatments. No childrm are treated al lhR hmlth center. The studem health cenLer isequipped LO handle acute-care walk-ins and scheduled appoimments. If the nature of illness is not treatable at this facility, students 11111 be referred off-campus LO nearby hospitals or specialty physician sen1ces. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. , Monday through Friday. The office is closed for lunch from I:00 LO 2:00 p.m., or as otherwise posted. Biola offers a medical insurance plan for catastrophi c ill- ness or accident. Students who are not covered by their own insurance maychoose LO use this plan. Cost of this insurance is subject LO change. Students who enroll in competetive sports 11111 be charged a mandatol)' fee fo r athletic insuran ce regard- less of other insurance coverage. Please check111th the health center staff for specific information. CAMPUS SAFETY Biola's Campus Safety Office has a genuine concern for the safety of indi vi dual sllldents as we ll as the communityas a whole. Campus Safety's primary respon ibility is lo protect the people and property of Biola University. This includes the responsibility for all persons at the lJnil'ersity (e.g., stu- dents, faculty, staff and visitors) and for all property owned or operated by the Un iversity. Trained officers are on duty 24 hours a dayand are willing to assist students. The Campus Safety Department offers spec ial se rvices such as a campus escort sen'ice, a rape prevention program wh ich includes several films and a seminar, bicycle registra- tion service, and Operation Idemifi cati on (engraving of per- sonal property for positive idemification in case of theft) throughout the year. Vehicle registration , traffi c control , building security and assistance in medical emergencies are additional sen1ces handled by this department. Recognizing that a Christian universityis not exempt from crime and dan- ger, students are asked lo use common sense and caution in eveq' aspec t of their activities. Crime statistics are avai lable
