Full-Time Undergraduate Students Satisfactory academi c progress toward a baccalaurea te degree as a full-time undergraduate student is obtain ed by compl eting 12 or more units per semester or 24 or more uni ts per academic year while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2. 0. Repea ted co urses previously passed ca nn ot be counted towa rd minimum satisfactory academi c progress requir ements. The student must compl ete th e degree requirements within the peri od of time required when pro­ gressing at the minimum full-time rate. For exampl e, in a program requiring 130 units progressing at 12 uni ts, a stu­ dent would have 11 semesters Lo complete the program. Full-Time Graduate Students Satisfactory academic progress toward a graduate degree as a full-time graduate student is obtained by compl eting eight or more uni ts per semester or 16 or more units per aca­ demic year while main taining the minimum cumulati ve GPA specifi ed by the program requirements in whi ch the student is enrolled. Repeated courses previously passed cannot be coun ted toward mi nimum sa ti sfactory academic progress req uirements. Th e stud ent must compl ete th e deg ree requirements within the period of time required when pro- . gressing at the minimum full- time rate. ·For exampl e, in a program requiring 96 units progressing al eight uni ts, a stu­ dent would have 12 semesters Lo compl ete the program. Doctoral students are considered full time fo r a maximum of two years in the di sse rtation phase of their program. Part-Time Students Sa ti sfac tory academi c prog ress towa rd a deg ree fo r a pan-time student is obtained bycompleting six or more uni ts per semester and maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 for the undergraduate, and four or more uni ts per semes­ ter and main tain the minimum program requirement for the graduate student. Repeated courses previously passed can­ not be counted towa rd min imum satisfactory academic progress requirements. GRADUATION RATE DISCLOSURE Of the full-time, degree-seeking, first-time freshmen who entered Biol a University in Fall 199 1, 61 % continued their enrollment in Fall 1993. This enrollment persistence rate is used Lo estimate the number of graduates from th e 199 1 incoming-freshmen class who may compl ete their degrees by 1996-97. Some of our undergraduate major programs whi ch contain our largest enro llments are th e longer programs, which take five years to complete. This means that many of our 1991 freshmen will not graduate until 1996-97.
