The VRC celebrates its members as we close out another memorable season at Headquarters. In a tribute to the late Deane Lester, whose visionary idea sparked the revival of an iconic race, The Flemington Cup has been renamed the Deane Lester Flemington Cup (2800m), forever immortalising his name and passion for the sport. Also on the card is The Byerley Handicap (1800m) – a coveted event for owners and trainers who will be seeking ballot exemption for their two-year- olds into the 2023 Group 1 Penfolds Victoria Derby (2500m) or the 2023 Group 1 Kennedy Oaks (2500m).

Punters Club The VRC Punters Club will run from both Saintly Place and The Atrium, offering the opportunity for VRC Members and public patrons to join in on the fun. The VRC Punters Club is proudly supported by TAB and hosted by racing personalities. Register before Race 3 for $10 cash. Saintly Place Sports Bar Catch all the live racing action on TV and enjoy easy access to refreshing beverages and food specials, TAB, pool tables and shuffleboard. Plus, you will be able to watch AFL matches throughout the afternoon with Collingwood v Fremantle from 1:45pm, Gold Coast Suns v St Kilda from 2:10pm, and Carlton v Port Adelaide from 4:35pm.. Food Specials across course Before the jump of Race 2, racegoers can enjoy an egg and bacon roll plus a coffee for $10, or a muffin and coffee for $8 from Saintly Place and other select retailers across course. Plus, there are all day food specials, including $5 large pies, $5 fries, and $5 soup of the day with a bread roll. Living Legends Living Legends Bullish Luck and Prince of Penzance will be joining us today! Be sure to catch them in the horse stalls throughout the day and parading in the Mounting Yard after races 2 and 4.
