Two Valleys Community Land Trust If you have driven by 6965 Sir Francis Drake - you’ve seen the large green and white Two Valleys Community Land Trust banner hanging on the cement wall in front of the property. After purchasing the property, our organization has accomplished an incredible amount of clean up with Board members and vol- unteers giving up a number of their Saturdays to remove leftover property - put- ting it into dumpsters, weeding and doing general clean up. Thanks to the San Geronimo Valley Lions Club for supporting the rehab work by helping to pay for the dumpster costs. We plan to have an Open House at the property sometime in June to show our Valley and Nicasio communities what the possibilities are of creating, preserving and maintaining housing for our hardworking community members, in perpetuity, through our community driven Two Valleys Community Land Trust. If you are interested in learning more about what we do or want to donate to our important work - go to our website at : tvclt.org. San Geronimo Valley Planning Group The 47-acre Tamalpais Union High School District property in Woodacre is safe from development for now, but it may be included in the next round of the Housing Element. The potential for 98 homes at the Valley’s doorstep has not gone away. The Planning Group has been in contact with our supervisor, Dennis Rodoni, and we are working on plans to ensure that this parcel remains open space for agriculture in perpetuity. Future generations should be able to enjoy the same feeling of relief we all do when that view opens up as we drive home down White’s Hill. It’s the gateway to West Marin. You can help us to protect this land and the rural character of our Valley. Join the Planning Group and serve on our Steering Committee. You can also help us to choose the design of the new fire station. Please visit our website at SGVPG.org

The San Geronimo Lions club is rocking and rolling along. Our annual Crab Feed was a huge success under the new leadership of Michela Rizzo McCurdy. In fact, the club has been graced with a fantastic new wave of next generation members interested in maintaining and bringing new life to the club’s longstand- ing events. We are proud to have contributed to several valley causes including benches at both the skatepark and the Community Center’s newly enhanced courtyard. We look forward to the 4th of July when we will again bring the com- munity together over food, music, and flea market at Dixon Ranch. The Lions welcomes community members who are interested in playing a part in our Valley events while having fun. SGV Stewards

SGV Stewards are paying attention to priority issues of valley residents

The SGV Stewards were formed as a legal nonprofit in 2009 to monitor the events surrounding the County’s development of the Stream Conservation Ordinance (SCO). The County was being sued and making decisions that would affect Valley residents, many of whom were unaware of what was happening. We also brought the concerns of Valley residents to the County . Since that time the Stewards have continued to monitor issues that affect Valley residents.

Right now we are paying close attention to:

• The development of the Fire Dept. on the old golf course. • Wildfire Defense and Strategies (Two of our board members are fire fighters) • Introduction of beavers to the watershed • Woodacre Flats Wastewater Sewer Project • Discussion with Fish and Wildlife about the under performance of the two off channel habitat areas at the old golf course restoration site. Two of our board members are on the Lagunitas Technical Advisory Committee and meet with representatives from the County, and environmental nonprofits like SPAWN and Fish and Wildlife.
