Saint Cecilia – Saint Mary Catholic Church Warm wishes from St. Cecilia-St. Mary Parish! We look forward to the arrival of spring and to a period of quiet reflection during the Lenten season, in prepara- tion for Easter. We celebrated Christmas in style at our annual Family Parish Christmas Potluck Dinner and sing-a-long in early December. Thanks to the efforts of dedicated parishioners and a generous donation of dozens of poinsettias, both churches were beautifully decorated for Advent and for our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services. Our Parish Council resumed in-person meetings, with plans to meet quarterly to address parish life needs and opportunities to interface with the community. Weekday masses continue on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; Padre Pio devotions are held at St. Cecilia on the last Saturday of the month. Please join us for Holy Week services, starting Sunday March 24th, and experi- ence a sense of renewal and rebirth as we celebrate Christ’s resurrection. San Geronimo Valley Planning Group The Planning Group has endorsed the County’s proposed relocation of the dilapidated Woodacre fire station to a new facility on the San Geronimo Commons 22-acre clubhouse parcel. This will improve emergency response times. We would prefer the area remain as open space, but the County’s purchase of the 157-acre property for recreation is contingent on the relocation of the fire station. The project’s Environmental Impact Report (EIR) mitigated negative declaration includes everything that might be necessary for a 21st century facility, as per a 2011 study, because any later additions to the EIR would require a whole new report. But approved items (e.g., training tower, size and location of buildings) can be removed or adjusted during the actual design process, which will include extensive community participation. The Planning Group is following this closely and will remain very involved going forward. You can keep track at our website, SGVPG.org.

San Geronimo Valley Emergency Fund The San Geronimo Valley Emergency Fund has beeen serving our community since 2004. We are dedicated to providing financial help to qualifying applicants who are experiencing hardship due to unforseen circumstances. Our board meets once a month and decides awards on a case by case basis. We are here to serve the residents of the four villages of the San Geronimo Valley. Over the years we average $12,000 a year in grants to the residents of our com- munity. The board is extremely grateful to our wonderful donors without whose support we would be unable to help those in need. Please keep an eye out for the flyer of our upcoming benefit by Terry Garthwait on March 9, 2023 at the Community Center. SPAWN Get Outside and Volunteer with SPAWN! Two Valleys Community Land Trust It has been an exciting time for The Two Valleys Community Land Trust (TVCLT). We have purchased a multi-unit dwelling at 6965 Sir Francis Drake in Forest Knolls! Our intention is to create a 4-bedroom home on the upper floor, a studio apartment on the lower level and hope to get the approval to add a Junior Accessory Unit. We have become a Community Land Trust (CLT) because it is a proven community-based model that creates permanently affordable hous- ing. CLTs buy real estate (land and improvements), remove it from the open market and develop it as below market housing. One of our next major goals is to become a membership organization with a Tripartite (three part) Board of Directors consisting of 1/3 residents of our CLT properties, 1/3 local community residents, and 1/3 stakeholders (public officials, experts, community leaders, non- profit workers, and individuals who speak for the public interest). To find out more about the important work we are doing in our communities and how you can get involved visit our website: tvclt.org
