Art report 2021
A nother extraordinary year! Looking back and reflecting, I am reminded that there have been many memorable, wonderful moments and experiences which encapsulate the creativity, enthusiasm and success of our artistic and creative community at St Lawrence College. The Canon Perfect Centre provides an excellent space to display and exhibit artwork. Having postponed our summer show, we are currently busy putting the finishing touches to our current exhibition, showcasing GCSE and A Level art and DT work. Considering the demands and difficulties of the past year, pupils have coped incredibly well. The quality and ambition of their work is testament to their perseverance and hard work. With the relaxing of restrictions, we hope to welcome students, friends and family to a private view of their work and perhaps enjoy a glass of something fizzy on the balcony. We look forward to making our Arts Week even bigger and better next year, making it a ‘not to be missed’ celebration of the Arts and creativity at St Lawrence College. Some of our very talented Kirby students were lucky enough to be invited to join a collaborative art project across the East Kent Schools Together partnership. It was titled ‘Our Shared Isolation’ and it was a huge success! It provided a chance for six students from each partner school to take part in an
